Spot color without Photoshop.Flat in. 3D out.

Image Presto turns any image into a print-ready 3D UV transfer in three clicks — no Photoshop, no CorelDRAW, no spot channel training. See it drive the new Lumen S24F live on the show floor: white base, gloss varnish and raised emboss, exported as a multi-channel TIFF your RIP reads by name.

The gap

A UV DTF press only earns its price when the file carries the channels

White base and varnish are separate ink layers. The RIP prints only what the file names — and today that file comes from Photoshop, from a paid designer, or not at all.

My RIP wants a W1 and a V1 channel and I have no idea how to make them.

I paid for a 3D printer and my prints come out flat.

My designer charges me for every varnish layer, and I wait two days.

I tried the Photoshop tutorial. Forty minutes, wrong channel name, the white printed on the wrong side.

Consumer apps give me one button for texture, but I cannot control where it goes and the file never leaves their app.

That is the gap we close

Image Presto builds the white, varnish and relief channels in the browser, names them the way your RIP expects, and exports a multi-channel TIFF — so the texture you designed is the texture that prints.

Composite lines from our test notes, dealer questions and the Photoshop workflow — the words we keep hearing, not verbatim customer quotes.

Why it matters

Five reasons spot color decides the print

The short version every rep can say in one breath at the booth.

01

The printer cannot guess

White underbase, varnish and raised layers are separate ink channels. No channel in the file, no 3D on the film.

02

The channels decide the result

Where the white sits decides opacity. Where the varnish sits decides gloss and height. A wrong choke or a wrong name prints visibly wrong — and wastes film and ink.

03

Manual separation is the bottleneck

One clean spot channel in Photoshop is tedious; two with different offsets is a pre-press job. Nobody buys a 60 cm UV printer to live in the Channels panel.

04

Skill is the scarce resource, not hardware

Shops already own the press. What they lack is a designer on call — so Image Presto meets them where they are, with a wand instead of a tutorial.

05

Texture is what sells the job

Embossed, embroidered, jelly and patch looks are why a customer picks a Lumen over a flat printer. The Spot Channel Editor makes those looks a menu choice.

The workflow

Three clicks to 3D

Upload, select, generate. One browser tab carries the whole job — artwork, masking, texture, 3D preview and the export your RIP reads.

01

Upload

Drop in any flat PNG or JPG — or hand off artwork from AI generation, background removal, the upscaler or the canvas editor.

02

Select

Mask the areas that get raised: full image, magic wand, color select or AI point-prompt segmentation. Fill holes, refine edges, clip to artwork.

03

Texture

Pick emboss from the image tones or one of 30 tiled relief patterns, then tune scale, smoothness, tonal balance and height.

04

Generate & export

Preview the relief in interactive 3D, then export one combined multi-channel TIFF — or per-channel files — with the spot names embedded.

Why Image Presto

And not the alternatives

Every route to a spot-color file has a cost. Here is the honest scoreboard — including the two things our own tool will not do.

Image Presto Spot Channel

Browser spot-color studio

What it gives

  • Wand, color & AI masking — no manual paths
  • 31 relief textures across six families
  • Up to four named channels per job
  • Interactive 3D preview before you print
  • Multi-channel TIFF with embedded spot names

What it lacks

  • Browser based — needs a connection
  • AI operations run on credits

Spot color without Photoshop.

Photoshop / CorelDRAW

Manual design suites

What it gives

  • Full pixel-level control
  • Industry-standard file formats

What it lacks

  • Hours of skill per operator
  • Channel naming redone for every RIP
  • No AI generation in the same tool

“Three clicks instead of forty minutes.”

Consumer UV printer apps

Bundled desktop software

What it gives

  • One-click texture presets

What it lacks

  • Locked to one printer brand
  • Flat raster export, capped height
  • Credits to buy, no control over where texture lands
  • Files never leave their app

“Choose the area, choose the pattern, export a file any pro RIP reads.”

RIP white generation

Built into the RIP

What it gives

  • Automatic white underbase

What it lacks

  • No varnish or gloss design
  • No texture library
  • No editing or AI assistance

“The RIP prints. Image Presto designs.”

Screen-print separation tools

Screen prepress

What it gives

  • Underbase plates for screens

What it lacks

  • Built for mesh, not UV film
  • No varnish, no 3D relief
  • Desktop-only workflows

“Built for UV DTF, in the browser.”

Every route above ends in the same file — a spot-color TIFF. Only one of them gets you there in three clicks.
